Going places in the world has always been an ambition of mine. Of course, being me, I decided that my life's goal should be to travel the whole world. That means absolutely every country out there. This travel journal is a chronicle of my journey and hopefully, will one day be complete.
When I was a kid, I always had a bag packed. At four or five years old, I decided it was important to always be ready incase I needed to be whisked away to some far off place or to a grandparent's house for a sleep-over. I kid you not, you may ask my mother, that I always was ready to go.

Myself, at about 5 or 6 years old, with my little while suitcase packed and ready to go.
Before I set out on my journey, I took my love of archaeology and history - likely fostered in part by Indiana Jones - and upon completing high school, enrolled at The University of Calgary in their archaeology programme. While there, I was offered an opportunity to go dig in Nicaragua, and thus took my first foray outside Canada's expansive borders.
I have traveled extensively within Canada, but hadn't seen anything like what I experienced in Nicaragua. The culture, the food, and of course, the history were all so different, and thus, inviting. The following year, I followed up my trip to Nicaragua with one of the greatest trips ever: Jordan.
Jordan was worlds away from Canada, but at the same time, people are people no matter where you go. I met some amazing ones, both native Jordanian and North Americans alike. The memories from that trip have really set into motion my desire to see even more of the world.
Through it all, I have been training to become an award-winning and world renowned photographer. The photojournalism major at SAIT was my follow up to archaeology and my attempt to make some money to feed my wanderlust. That said, if you like my photos, some of them are available for purchase on my personal website, Phoenixis.ca. Just think, you'll be doing your part to send me on my next trip and come back with even more great photographs to adorn your walls. Isn't that a tempting deal?
